Bitty & Beau's Coffee to Expand to Boston

A small group of coffee shops whose founder/owner was once picked as CNN Hero of the Year is heading to the local area.

According to a tweet from @91OMGbiz, Bitty & Beau's Coffee is planning to expand to Boston, with a Twitter post from the business confirming that "Franchise #6" will indeed be opening somewhere in the city. The shops, which can currently be found in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, and Maryland, are run by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with founder Amy Wright naming the stores after her daughter, Bitty, and her son, Beau, both of whom have Down syndrome. In 2017, CNN awarded her Hero of the Year and gave her $100,000 for her work, with Wright saying at the time, "I'm bringing this home to the 40 employees that work at Bitty & Beau's Coffee because they are my heroes" while saying to Bitty and Beau, "I would not change you for the world, but I will change the world for you."
