Back in December, the Baker administration rolled back the maximum capacity for restaurants and other businesses in Massachusetts to 25%. Now, with the Covid numbers heading mostly in the right direction, the capacity restrictions will be adjusted upward.
In today's press conference update, Governor Charlie Baker stated that restaurants are among the businesses that will be able to increase their maximum capacity to 40% beginning Monday, February 8. Baker did say that other safety guidelines will remain in place for now, including the maximum table size remaining at 6 and a time limit of 90 minutes for diners.
The lifting of the maximum capacity follows on the heels of the January 25 lifting of the 9:30 PM restriction on table service and the 10:00 stay-at-home advisory.
