An award-winning suburban Italian restaurant that has been around for a long time has shut down permanently.
According to three sources, including @JeremyKrantz, Il Capriccio in Waltham has closed for good, with one source saying that they vacated the Main Street space late last week and that the owner is "moving on." The restaurant, which first opened in 1981, was known for its Northern Italian fare and its wine list, with the place getting much in the way of accolades over the years, including from Zagat, Boston Magazine, James Beard, Gourmet Magazine, Wine Spectator, and more, according to its website.
The address for Il Capriccio was 888 Main Street, Waltham, MA, 02453.
