It looks like a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dining spot may be on its way to the South End of Boston.
The Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry blog is reporting that Anoush'Ella: Saj Kitchen is planning to open on W Newton Street in what appears to be the former Pathways To Wellness space at the corner of Washington Street. A post in The Boston Sun indicates that the eatery would be a quick-casual spot that offers Eastern Mediterranean fare including breads made on a saj (a type of rounded grill) that have a variety of ingredients added to create a type of pita sandwich. The eatery also hopes to have a yogurt bar that will offer labne, or strained yogurt with toppings added, and the place plans to serve beer and wine.
Based on the name of the restaurant and the use of the saj, it appears that Anoush'Ella could have Lebanese influences, though a specific cuisine has not been mentioned as of yet.
The address for this proposed dining spot in the South End is: Anoush'Ella: Saj Kitchen, 35 W Newton Street, Boston, MA, 02118.
