A brand new Italian restaurant is on its way to Jamaica Plain, replacing a space-themed diner that more or less shut down last summer.
According to a tweet from the Jamaica Plain News, JP residents Claire Makley and Luke Fetbroth are planning to open Tonino on Centre Street in the former Little Dipper space, with the post saying that it will offer Sicilian-style pizza, handmade pasta, and "eclectic food-centric beverages." If all goes well, the new dining spot will be opening later this summer.
Little Dipper first opened in the summer of 2018, temporarily closing down in the fall of 2020 before ending brunch service (effectively shutting the place down) last July while continuing to host popups within the space.
The address for the upcoming Tonino is 669a Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
