A comfort food spot in Cambridge that is known in part for its chicken dishes could be expanding to Boston.
According to a licensing board hearing page, Shy Bird is planning to open on Old Colony Avenue in South Boston, with the address indicating that it would be moving into a space within the old Cole Hersee building that is also home to locations of Castle Island Brewing and Tatte. The original location of Shy Bird first opened in Kendall Square in the summer of 2019, with Andrew Holden (Eastern Standard and Branch Line) being behind it; the menu for the restaurant includes such items as grain bowls with rotisserie chicken, half and whole chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, chicken shawarma pita, pretzels, squash soup, macaroni and cheese, braised short ribs, burgers, beer, wine, cider, and cocktails.
The address for the proposed new location of Shy Bird in South Boston is 12 Old Colony Avenue, South Boston, MA, 02127. The website for the Cambridge location can be found at https://ift.tt/3Gxi2T4
