A longtime sushi bar in Cambridge that is both a media favorite and an industry haunt is expanding to a new business next door that will be geared toward takeout.
According to an article from boston.com, Cafe Sushi is planning to open Shoten, which will be located next door to the Mass. Ave. restaurant. The Instagram page for the place indicates that the upcoming shop will feature grab-and-go sushi and sake, while boston.com mentions that it will also offer Japanese pantry items and imported snacks.
Cafe Sushi, which first opened in 1984, has gotten high marks over the years for its inventive takes on sushi options, with owner Seizi Imura being a James Beard award nominee multiple times.
