A South Shore eatery that focuses on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare has closed for now as it looks for a new location, while its former space will become home to another dining spot.
According to a source, Shawarma Club in Weymouth is no longer in operation, with its space on Washington Street apparently being taken over by Shawarma & Shakes sometime in September. A Facebook post from Shawarma Club mentions that it will be coming to a new location and will make an announcement about it soon, while also indicating that it does not have a connection to Shawarma & Shakes.
Shawarma Club, which offered such items as chicken and beef shawarma, lamb kebabs, hummus, baba ganoush, and falafel, has also had a location within the food court of the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. It is not known if that location will be reopening (it closed around the start of the coronavirus outbreak); we have reached out to the business and will report back as soon as we find out more.
The address for the now-closed Shawarma Club in Weymouth (and the upcoming Shawarma & Shakes) is 850 Washington Street (Route 53), Weymouth, MA, 02189. The website for Shawarma & Shakes can be found at https://ift.tt/3gZ8yDw (The website for Shawarma Club is currently down.)
