Another French restaurant in the Boston suburbs is shutting down, and this one was only in business for one year.
The Arlington Advocate is reporting that Bistro Duet in East Arlington is closing, though a voicemail from the Mass. Ave. spot seems to indicate that it may have already shuttered--while a Facebook post from the place mentions that it was closed on Wednesday due to a "maintenance issue." The voicemail states that Bistro Duet is apparently shutting down due to various issues and challenges, including pre-opening delays early on and the rising cost of doing business in the restaurant world, with these factors being "enough to force us out of business." Bistro Duet first opened in early January of 2017, moving into the space where Flora had been for 20 years.
The closing of Bistro Duet comes on the heels of another suburban French restaurant shutting down--Petit Robert Bistro in Needham, which will be replaced by a new spot called Cappella.
The address for Bistro Duet is 190 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, 02474.
