Pho So 1 in Dorchester Has Been Permanently Shut Down by the City of Boston

Earlier this week, we had mentioned that a Dorchester restaurant that has been featured on our sister site was facing possible punishment for multiple violations. Now we have learned that the Boston Licensing Board has decided that it has had enough.

Universal Hub is reporting that the city of Boston has revoked the liquor license and its food-serving license for Pho So 1 in Fields Corner, which effectively shuts down the Adams Street dining spot for good. It is not known if the actions by the licensing board can be appealed; a source tells us that the owner could theoretically appeal the revocation of the liquor license with the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, but without a food-serving license, it wouldn't be possible to reopen. As reported earlier, this all stemmed from Pho So 1 being cited five times over the past seven months for being open after its licensed closing time of 10:00 PM.

Pho So 1 has been featured by Boston's Hidden Restaurants as a spot to go to for Vietnamese food. The review can be found here:

It does not appear that this will affect the other location of Pho So 1 in Randolph; if we hear otherwise, we will post an update here.

The address for Pho So 1 in Fields Corner was 223 Adams Street, Dorchester, MA, 02122.
