Niku Ramen Plans to Open in Former Windsor Button Space in Boston's Downtown Crossing

It looks like a ramen spot may be on its way to downtown Boston, and it would be going into a space that at least a couple of other restaurants had been looking at over the past few years.

According to a licensing board page within the City of Boston website, Niku Ramen is planning to open on Temple Place in Downtown Crossing, with the address indicating that it would move into the space where Windsor Button had been for nearly 80 years until closing in 2013--and the same space that The Painted Burro in Somerville's Davis Square was eyeing, along with another spot called Cut and Sew. The hearing notice indicates that the proposed eatery would have a dining room and a lounge area, and that the manager listed is Christopher Straub.

The hearing for Niku Ramen will take place on Wednesday, September 21; as soon as we find out more about the restaurant, we will post an update here.
