Tapestry Opens This Month in Boston's Fenway Neighborhood

Last year, we reported that a music club in Boston's Fenway neighborhood was closing, and a chef who used to work at one of the city's best-known restaurants was going to be involved in the opening of a new dining spot within the space. Now we have learned that the new spot is just about ready to open--and that another chef is part of the team behind it.

Boston Magazine states that Tapestry is planning to open in the middle of next week on Kilmarnock Street, taking over the former Church space. As mentioned earlier, the new spot will have two different concepts, with Boston Magazine saying that the side where Church had a restaurant will be a casual space with an oyster bar and wood-fired pizza, while the old club side will be a more formal dining space that has "mid-century Havana lounge vibes."

The Tapestry team includes Meghann Ward, who had been the chef de cuisine at Coppa in Boston's South End and Marlena Ward, who is Meghann's stepmother, as well as Kevin Walsh, who is married to Meghann and had been pastry chef at the now-closed Clio in the Back Bay. (Meghann and Kevin met while working at the now-closed Radius in downtown Boston a decade ago.)

The address for the upcoming Tapestry is 69 Kilmarnock Sreet, Boston, MA, 02215.
