Last year, we reported that a new restaurant and bar would be coming to Dorchester, taking over the space where a decades-old pub had been. Now we have learned that the place is just about ready to open.
According to a post on its Facebook page from earlier this week, the Lower Mills Tavern is about two weeks away from opening in the former Lower Mills Pub space on Dorchester Avenue, with a source indicating that the dining and drinking spot may have had a preview/soft opening this week. No specific opening date has been given as of yet, so keep checking back for updates.
The team behind the Lower Mills Tavern--which looks to be a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant and bar--includes Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys, who is also behind McGreevey's in Boston's Back Bay. Others mentioned earlier include Brian O'Donnell, who was is apparently a "key partner," and HGTV host Taniya Nayak, who is married to O'Donnell.
The address for the upcoming Lower Mills Tavern is 2269 Dorchester Avenue, Boston, MA, 02124. Its website will be at http://ift.tt/1U3EjKI
