It looks like a new bookstore/cafe/bar could be coming to a Boston neighborhood.
According to a post within the Jamaica Plain Facebook group page, Shannon Spellman is planning to open The Book Pub in JP, saying that she is "in the process of opening a new indie bookstore. The Book Pub is an LGBTQ + Women owned Bookshop with a small cafĂ© and craft beer bar. The focus of the store is to be inclusive and welcoming to the local community while offering a unique setting to have a pint and enjoy your next favorite read!" A Kickstarter page for the business gives a bit more information, stating that it would be "offering a curated selection of books, artisanal coffee, and rotating local craft beers - while showcasing a bit of literary flare. The store will host author events, themed evenings, children’s book readings, writing classes, etc."
If all goes as planned, The Book Pub could be opening in the late fall of this year.
