A popular Mexican restaurant has shut down after being in business for 25 years.
According to several sources as well as Patrick Maguire who posted within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, El Pelon Taqueria in the Fenway section of Boston has shut down, with a Facebook post from the Peterborough Street spot saying that for now, "we plan to consolidate our efforts at our Brighton location" and that "we will continue to offer Catering and Delivery throughout the city." The Fenway location of El Pelon has been a popular spot with locals, college students, and Red Sox fans (Fenway is a short distance to the north), and it has been a part of what some call Fenway's "Restaurant Row."
The address for the now-closed El Pelon Taqueria in the Fenway was 92 Peterborough Street, Boston, MA, 02215. The website for the business (including the remaining location on Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton) is at https://elpelon.com/
