The Chemist Plans to Open in Boston's Financial District, Replacing Slate Bar & Grill

A restaurant and bar in downtown Boston that is popular with office workers may be replaced by a new dining and drinking spot, and a familiar name is behind that place.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the city's website, The Chemist is planning to open by the corner of High Street and Congress Street in the Financial District, moving into the Slate Bar & Grill space. The notice mentions that the proposed spot would include seating for 59 and a bar, and the manager listed is Kevin Treanor (The Merchant, Phoenix Landing, Hugh O'Neill's, Trinity, Conley's Pub, Fresh Pond Beer Garden). More information on The Chemist will likely be given by later next week, as the meeting is slated to take place on August 16, so keep checking back for updates.
