It looks like an award-winning Italian chef may be bringing one of his concepts to Boston.
According to a licensing board hearing page, Del Mar is looking to open on Congress Street by Haymarket Square, with a source indicating (via a Google search) that this is indeed the same Del Mar in Washington, D.C. that is run by Fabio Trabocchi. Del Mar is a high-end restaurant that focuses on Spanish coastal cuisine, with its website saying that its menu features "bright and savory flavors from the Mediterranean coast and islands of Spain" such as a seafood tower, hand-carved Ibérico ham leg, artisanal Spanish cheeses, Galician-style octopus, branzino fillet, bigeye tuna, veal chop, and ribeye.
Trabocchi, who was born in Italy and is now based in Washington, D.C., has won a James Beard award for best chef and is also a Michelin-starred chef.
The address for the proposed location of Del Mar in Boston is 1 Congress Street, Boston, MA, 02114. The website for the Washington, D.C. location of Del Mar can be found at https://ift.tt/MhFIDPy
