A new dining and drinking spot may be on its way to the Back Bay of Boston, and it would be taking over the space where a combination speakeasy/nightclub had been.
According to a licensing board hearing page within the city's website, HuE is looking to open on Exeter Street in the former Storyville space, with the notice saying that the proposed spot would be a two-level place with restaurant space, multiple bars, and an outdoor patio. A check on the parent company of HuE (Stark Hospitality, LLC) indicates that George Aboujaoude (Committee, Eva. Bijou Nightclub and Lounge) is apparently involved, while the manager listed in the hearing notice is Nicholas Saber.
Storyville, which first opened in 2011, took its name from a landmark club that once occupied the same spot and featured such acts as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and Cab Calloway.
The address for the proposed HuE is 90 Exeter Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
