A new dining spot is on its way to a growing development in Somerville, replacing a pizza restaurant that closed down, then reopened just as the pandemic was taking hold.
According to a press release, Salt + Stone is going to be opening at Assembly Row in the former MidiCi space, with the couple who ran MidiCi--Sean and Sue Olson--also being behind this upcoming restaurant. Salt + Stone will be an upscale casual place with a bar and two patios, with its menu including such options as seafood towers, charcuterie boards, poutine, flatbreads and pizzas, pasta dishes, grilled lamb chops, steak frites, reubens, burgers and hot dogs, lobster rolls, beer, wine, cocktails, and desserts. If all goes as planned, Salt + Stone should open sometime in February.
MidiCi first opened in early 2018, offering Neapolitan-style pizza along with salads, and small plates; the restaurant appeared to have shut down permanently in March of 2020 but opened back up a few months later.
The address for the upcoming Salt + Stone is 463 Assembly Row, Somerville, MA, 02145. Its website can be found at https://ift.tt/3zuD3v9
