The city of Boston will soon have a new policy in place for restaurants--and one that other cities and towns across the country have already instituted as the coronavirus numbers start to spike.
In her press conference on Monday morning, Mayor Michelle Wu announced that people will need to show their COVID-19 vaccine cards (or a copy of their card or a photo) in order to do indoor dining at Boston restaurants and bars, with proof of at least one dose required starting on January 15 for customers aged 12 and up (along with restaurant/bar workers), and two doses starting on February 15. Mayor Wu's announcement comes as the number of coronavirus cases are increasing once again in Boston and elsewhere, with cases of the Omicron variant rising rapidly.
New York City is one of a number of cities/towns in the United States that has already set a vaccine card mandate for restaurants in place.
