Bit Bar in Salem Is Moving to the Former Salem Beer Works Space

A restaurant, bar, and arcade spot on the North Shore is heading to a new home, taking over the space where a location of a local group of brewpubs had been.

According to a source, Bit Bar is going to be moving from St. Peter Street in Salem--where it has resided in an historic jail complex since 2016--to Derby Street in the downtown area of the city, with an earlier Patch article indicating that it is taking over the Salem Beer Works space. A Facebook post from the business says that July 18 is expected to be the last day in its current space, and it plans to open in its new home sometime in August.

The exact status of Salem Beer Works has been in question since the start of the pandemic, as the website for the company still has the location listed along with Hingham, which has permanently closed, and Framingham, which appears to have closed for good as well. (The future of the two Boston locations remains in question as of now.)

The current address for Bit Bar is 50 St. Peter Street, while its new address will be 278 Derby Street. Its website can be found at https://bit.bar/
