A quirky coffee shop in Cambridge has said farewell.
According to a source, the Atomic Bean Cafe on the western edge of Central Square is closed and has a For Sale sign out front, with a Facebook post from the Mass. Ave. spot actually indicating that it made the decision not to reopen this past fall. The post states that "After 12 years of service, it took a pandemic to shut our doors, and that is something to be proud of....Thank you for choosing to support us and for being our friends. We will continue to root for you from afar! We love you all and wish peace and love, peace and love to the People's Republic of Cambridge."
The Atomic Bean Cafe is one of many popular spots in Cambridge to close for good during the pandemic, with others being The Field, The Cantab Lounge, Border Cafe, Bukowski Tavern, The Friendly Toast, Cuchi Cuchi, Restaurant Dante, and The Automatic.
The address for the now-closed Atomic Bean Cafe was 904 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139.
