Back in 2019 it was reported that a neighborhood grocery store in Cambridge that has been around for nearly 100 years was closing and the people behind a nearby specialty food shop were planning to take it over and open a market there. Now we have learned that their shop will actually be moving into that space.
According to a post from Eater Boston, Formaggio Kitchen in Huron Village is planning to move from its current space at 244 Huron Avenue to the former Fresh Pond Market space at 360 Huron Avenue, with the move giving the store twice as much room. Originally, it looked like owners Valerie and Ihsan Gurdal would be opening a market in that space while keeping Formaggio in its home, but as Eater says, "the pandemic hit, and their plans changed."
The website for Formaggio, which also has locations in Kendall Square and Boston's South End along with a fourth outlet in Manhattan's Lower East Side, can be found at https://ift.tt/I3w0I3
