An upscale Fort Point restaurant is getting ready to shut down for the time being.
According to a Facebook post from the place, Oak + Rowan on A Street is closing after business hours tonight, with the note saying that "It's a decision that we make with heavy hearts, but it is the right decision for our employees, our guests and our business to reemerge as strongly as possible in March 2021. We wish you a peaceful and delicious holiday and we send a thousand thank you's for being part of our extended family!" The temporarily closure of the restaurant comes on the heels of owner Nancy Batista-Caswell permanently closing one of her other dining spots--Ceia in Newburyport--last month, with Brine (another Newburyport spot that she runs) remaining in operation.
Oak + Rowan is one of countless restaurants to make the decision to close for part or all of the winter as the pandemic continues, leading to state and local restrictions on dining spots along with a sharp decrease in foot traffic in Boston and elsewhere.
The address for Oak + Rowan in Fort Point is 321 A Street, Boston, MA, 02210. Its website is at http://oakandrowan.com/
