A longtime diner in Malden that is known in part for its donuts is looking to expand to Cambridge, taking over the space where an Irish pub had been.
According to an article from Cambridge Day, Donut Villa Diner on Highland Avenue is planning to open a second location on Prospect Street in Central Square, moving into the space where The Field was until closing this summer. Based on the offerings at the Malden location, the proposed outlet in Cambridge would likely feature diner fare with an emphasis on donuts, while Cambridge Day said it would also offer vegan dishes.
The Malden location of Donut Villa Diner dates back more than 40 years, with the original owners calling the place Donut Villa; the eatery changed ownership approximately three years ago, and with it, a change to its present name.
The address for the proposed Donut Villa Diner in Central Square is 20 Prospect Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139. The website for the Malden location can be found at https://ift.tt/3nJqG7Z
