A suburban restaurant known for its conveyor belt sushi has shut down permanently.
According to an article from the Framingham Source, Wasabi at the Natick Mall is no longer in operation, with general manager Jeffrey Miller saying that "The mandatory covid closure just destroyed us." The sushi spot, which also offered soups, salads, appetizers, protein bowls, and desserts, featured a conveyor belt that wrapped around the dining space and allowed customers to choose items as the food went by the tables.
Wasabi first started out in the Farragut Square section of Washington, DC back in 2006, with the Natick location joining a few others in the DC area back in 2011. (An outlet in Tyons Corner, VA, remains open.)
