Cafe Pamplona in Cambridge's Harvard Square Files for Bankruptcy, Closes

A longtime cafe in the heart of Cambridge has shut down, though it hasn't been confirmed whether it has closed for good.

Eater Boston is reporting (via The Harvard Crimson) that Cafe Pamplona in Harvard Square has closed and filed for bankruptcy, with owner Nina S. Hovagimian telling the Crimson that "There's no Commencement, there's no Boston Calling, there's no Fourth of July. All of our busy season is not busy....Financially, it's impossible for us to survive without these two months." Based on the Crimson article--which was posted in late May--it isn't clear whether the Bow Street eatery is closed permanently, as Hovagimian says "I don't think our business will survive this" while the article itself states that "the coronavirus might just kill the cafe." As soon as we find out the exact status of Cafe Pamplona, we will post an update here.

Cafe Pamplona has been in business since 1958, according to the Crimson.

The address for Cafe Pamplona is 12 Bow Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
