Local Restaurants in the Boston Area Are Feeding Workers on the Front Lines

The coronavirus has put untold stress on people from all walks of life including both emergency responders and restaurant owners/workers, and now we have learned that some folks in the latter group are helping those in the former.

According to a post from Boston 25 News and an article from 7 News Boston, some local restaurants are helping feed people on the front lines, with one example being Orinoco chef/co-owner Carlos Rodriguez and his staff making meals for hospital workers at places such as Brigham and Women's Hospital via customers purchasing the meals or donating directly to their meals program. Julie and Bessie King of Villa Mexico are also feeding workers in emergency departments at such places as Boston Medical Center, Children's Hospital, and Brigham and Women's Hospital via donations. And a local chain is involved as well, as B.Good is also donating meals to those on the front lines. In addition, Rodriguez and his crew at Orinoco are also dropping off meals to shelters and social services centers such as the Boston Living Center and they are also planning to donate any extra money raised to food banks.

To donate to Orinono--which has locations in Boston's South End, Brookline, and Cambridge--or find out more about their meals program, please go to this link; for donations to Villa Mexico--which is located in downtown Boston--or more info, please go here.
