Jose's Mexican Restaurant in Cambridge Is Closing

A Mexican restaurant in Cambridge that has been around for a long time is shutting down.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Jose's on Sherman Street is closing, with the note simply saying, "I wanted to share a news, well not so good news.... we are closing Jose's for good." No reason has been given for the restaurant's closure, nor is it known when exactly it closes or what might become of its space, so stay tuned for updates as they come in.

Jose's has been in business since the mid-1980s, with the present owner taking over the dining spot a bit more than 15 years ago. An Arlington restaurant called Jose's Torta Mexicana opened this spring and has a connection to the Cambridge location of Jose's; it is not yet known what the status of that place is.
