Doyle's Cafe in Jamaica Plain Is Closing

It looks like one of Boston's most iconic restaurants will soon be saying farewell.

According to a couple of sources, Doyle's Cafe in Jamaica Plain is planning to close and sell its liquor license to an upcoming location of Davio's in Boston's Seaport District. This has been confirmed by a Boston Globe article, which quotes owner Gerry Burke Jr. as saying that "It's a terrible thing and I'm as sad as I can be. But the real estate in JP is as high as it's going to get and I can't afford to stay here any more." It is not yet known when the last day for Doyle's might be, so keep checking back for updates.

Doyle's, which first opened in 1882, is a renowned dining and drinking spot that has attracted politicians and celebrities alike over the years.

The address for Doyle's is 3484 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130. Its website can be found at https://ift.tt/2ZQgJxr
