The Nu Do Society Plans to Open in the Former River Gods Space in Cambridge

It looks like a new restaurant may be coming to a space near Central Square in Cambridge, and it would apparently be taking over the space where a popular restaurant, bar, and music spot had been until closing a few years ago.

According to a license commission page within the city's website, The Nu Do Society is looking to open on River Street, with the address indicating that it would be moving into the former River Gods space. The notice says that the proposed eatery would be a full-service Asian noodle and food restaurant, with the manager being Wudthipong Guygaew; it appears that this is the same Wudthipong Guygaew who was behind the old Curry Thai on Cambridge Street, a restaurant that was replaced by the now-closed Pandan Leaf and may soon be home to a spot called 9 Zaab.

River Gods, which closed in the summer of 2016 after approximately 15 years in business, was known in part for its themed music nights from a variety of DJs. In addition, the place also offered pub grub (including vegetarian items) along with beer, wine, and cocktails.

The address for The Nu Do Society is listed as 123 River Street, while the official address for the River Gods was 125 River Street.
