A restaurant and wine bar in Waltham that is connected to an award-winning deli--and which abruptly shut down last month because of licensing issues--has reopened.
According to a Facebook post from the place, The Backroom at Moody's reopens this evening, with current hours being 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday. As reported earlier, both The Backroom and Moody's Delicatessen & Provisions were shut down in late April by the city because Moody's founder Joshua Smith was the licensee named on the food and liquor licenses, but because he was no longer involved, both spots had been operating illegally and could not serve food or drink. The current operators were able to re-acquire a common victualler license and opened the deli back up earlier this month and at the time were hoping that The Backroom would soon be reopening as well. Another dining spot affiliated with Moody's and The Backroom--El Rincon de Moody's--hopes to open back up in late June or July.
The address for The Backroom is 468 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453. Its website can be found at http://bit.ly/2Qmtat0
