Hello, EDSA Beverage Design Group (EDSA BDG).
EDSA BDG is the first stall you'll see when you enter The Grid. Serving as the beverage counter for the food hall's concessionaires, this cafe offers more than a good cup of joe.
During our first visit at The Grid, R and I went with Grapefruit, Lime and Rose (PHP130) and Turon Ginger Beer (PHP130). I have to admit, I was very excited to try the latter as it was a very unique combination.
Service was prompt and we got our drinks in just a few minutes. The staff were very friendly too and helpful in giving me good shots of the drinks.
Taste-wise, Grapefruit, Lime and Rose had this light and slightly bitter flavor. I guess the grapefruit took the spotlight here. My glass of Turon Ginger Beer tasted like ginger ale but with a more serious kick of ginger. It sure made me feel like I was drinking something good for the throat.
Both were refreshing and great thirst quenchers. But I found the serving size a bit small for the price.
I dropped by EDSA BDG again a few weeks ago and went with one of its Espresso + Milk drinks, Flat White (PHP150).
While waiting for my drink with my camera ready to snap some shots, the barista suddenly apologized and mentioned that he's not good with latte art. He seems to be a bit too hard on himself or got pressured as it wasn't bad at all!
I would have loved the espresso flavor to be more pronounced but it was muted by milk. Perhaps I ordered the wrong drink that afternoon and should have just gone with something stronger.
Service was just perfect. The baristas were very accommodating and all smiles whenever customers are around. Drinks though seem to fall short of what I was expecting to get from this famous shop. But I'll definitely try a few more again soon.
