Borugulu Mixture Masala

Borugulu Mixture Masala or Maramarala Mixture Masala is popular street food available across South India and prepared in different ways.

Puffed Rice is called Maramaralu or Borugulu in Telugu, Pori in Tamil. This chat is prepared by using Puffed rice with a spicy mixture or south Indian Chiva along with other garnishes. My exposure to this snack is obviously from my Hubby dear who is very fond of this snack and Athamma prepared it for the first time.

As I might have mentioned before, Hubby Dear doesn’t snack, not even in between meals or ever. So if he was telling me excitedly about some snack, I was curious to know how it is made. The dish is very simple, though you can obviously get it done the elaborate way as well.

This snack works out best for 11 o clock snacking or evening snacking. You can use Masala Pori or plain pori to make this along with the ingredients mentioned. I am doing the BM#96, Week 3. If you ever come out with a question “How about elevenses?” these dishes are your answers. Elevenses means Mid morning snack followed by the English to snack on something light at 11’oclock in the morning.

Even we follow this ritual if we had an early breakfast and mostly opt for whatever biscuits or fruits available. This snack is something I make for the evening, however since all the ingredients are easily available all the time in my place, I thought I would make it for this theme. This snack is light and very yummy too.
