It looks like a local group of Japanese restaurants will be expanding to Somerville, opening where an Indian spot had been.
According to a post on the Davis Square Facebook group page, Genki Ya is planning to open in Davis Square in the former Diva Indian Bistro space on Elm Street. Once it opens, the new place--which features sushi and Japanese entrees made using organic ingredients--will join other locations in Boston's Theatre District as well as Brookline, Cambridge, and Dedham.
Diva closed its doors last December after approximately 20 years in business.
