An award-winning North End restaurant that has been in business for nearly 25 years is shutting down later this month.
According to a source from last week, Maurizio's on Hanover Street is looking to transfer its liquor license to Oath Craft Pizza on Boylston Street in the Fenway area, with a recent licensing board hearing page confirming this. An email sent this morning by a source confirms that the restaurant is indeed shuttering, with the note showing that it will be closing its doors on Christmas Eve.
Maurizio's, which first opened in 1993 (according to Manta), is known in part for its Mediterranean and Sardinian fare, including such items as calamari, rolled eggplant, bruschetta, spaghetti with smoked salmon, linguine with clams, grilled sea bass, chicken marsala, and veal limone. Its website mentions that the restaurant has been "top rated in the Zagat Guide" and a three-time winner of Boston Magazine's Best of Boston awards.
The address for this soon-to-close restaurant in the North End is: Maurizio's, 364 Hanover Street, Boston, MA, 02113. Its website can be found at http://ift.tt/2tDWLGc
