Swissbakers Plans to Open in Smith Center in Cambridge's Harvard Square

A trio of Boston-area bakery-cafes may be opening a fourth, with this one coming to a building in Cambridge that is currently undergoing a large-scale transformation.

According to a Harvard Square Advisory Committee page, Swissbakers is looking to open within Harvard University's Smith Campus Center on Mass. Ave., with the proposed outlet being open to the general public and having both indoor and outdoor seating. Based on the other locations of Swissbakers in Reading, Allston, and the Boston Public Market, the new location could have such items as soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods with Swiss influences. The Smith Center isn't expected to open until the fall of 2018, so the new location of Swissbakers likely won't be able to open for at least a year.

The website for Swissbakers--which also can be found at various farmers markets in the region--is at http://ift.tt/2hz8sVK

Thanks to a source for initially bringing this to our attention.
