Craft Table & Bar to Replace Ecco in East Boston

Earlier this summer, we reported that an upscale restaurant and lounge in East Boston had closed for renovations and would remain shuttered for several weeks. Now we have learned that a new dining and drinking spot with roots west of the city is going into its space.

According to a source, Craft Table & Bar in Worcester is taking over the Porter Street space where Ecco had been until late June, with the new place being a "polished" casual restaurant that features mostly classic and modern American fare along with a variety of beer, wine, and spirits options. The group behind the new spot is New England Craft Restaurant Concepts, which is also opening several Brew on the Grid coffee shops in the Greater Boston area.

Ecco, which opened a bit less than 10 years ago, was known in part for its New American dushes and its cocktails.
