Hello, Banh Mi Kitchen.
This banh mi brand which created buzz since 2016 has been a go to shop for authentic Vietnamese sandwich. Its partnership with RISE Boulangerie has helped this group of young restaurateurs perfect its #crunchtest and that's one of the many reasons why people keep going back for more.
Foodgrammer.ph tagged me along to its newest branch in SM Hypermart near Tiendesitas one Friday afternoon and I sampled its Lemongrass Pork (PHP99 | PHP149) and BMKN Viet Iced Coffee (PHP60 | PHP75).
I got my iced Vietnamese coffee first and it was delightful. It was strong yet not too acidic. I love that its sweetness took the backseat and allowed the beautiful taste of coffee to bask in the spotlight.
It took a while for my lemongrass pork banh mi to be served due to miscommunication in the kitchen. I wasn't very hungry then so I didn't really turn hangry and I was enjoying the company of fellow bloggers.
It took roughly 15 minutes or so before my banh mi was served and it was great! It tasted like pho but in a bun. The delectable lemongrass flavor was evident and each bite was oozing with it. The pork chunks were tender, though it would have been nicer and easier to eat if the chunks were smaller.
Do swing by this place before or after doing your grocery shopping to fill the good ol tummy in between errands.
