Magnolia Bakery to Open Stall at Boston's Faneuil Hall

Over the past several years, there has been chatter that a New York-based group of bakeries that gained notoriety thanks to a TV series--and which also helped bring about the cupcake craze of the 1990s and 2000s--was looking to expand to Boston. Now we have learned that this will indeed become reality later this year.

The Tables section of The Boston Globe is reporting that Magnolia Bakery is opening a stall at 2-4 Faneuil Hall, with the plan being to open sometime in the fall based on what a rep told the Globe. Magnolia, which started out in Greenwich Village in the 1990s and now has six shops in New York, and three others in Central Valley, NY, Chicago and Los Angeles, became famous thanks to "Sex and the City," and it has also been mentioned on a number of other TV shows and movies over the years.

Thanks to Eater Boston for initially bringing this to our attention.
