Monument to Open in Former Paolo's Trattoria Space in Charlestown

Two months ago, we reported that an Italian restaurant that had been around for nearly 20 years had closed for renovations. Now we have learned that a new spot will be opening in the space, though it will apparently be under the same ownership.

According to a licensing board page within the City of Boston website, a restaurant tentatively called Monument is looking to open in Charlestown, and the address given indicates that it will replace Paolo's Trattoria on Main Street. The manager listed is Adam Hawk, who is one of the owners of Paolo's, and during the summer it had been mentioned here that that restaurant closed for renovations for the summer and would reopen in the fall. It is not yet known what the concept may be for Monument, nor is it known what kinds of renovations might be made to the space; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

The address for the now-closed Paolo's Trattoria (and upcoming Monument) is 251 Main Street, Charlestown, MA, 02129.
