It-Newton to Open in Former Appetito Space in Newton Centre

A brand new restaurant is on its way to Newton, and it will be taking over the space where another dining spot had been for 20 years.

According to a poster on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, a restaurant called "It" is opening in Newton Centre in the former Appetito space, with a check on the spot's website indicating that the full name is apparently "It-Newton." A Yelp page for the Beacon Street eatery indicates that it will feature Italian, Spanish, and Mediterranean fare.

Appetito, which shut down in early 2014, was an upscale Italian restaurant that offered such items as frutti di mare, bolognese, gnocchi, rack of lamb, and pork tenderloin.
