Cafeteria Owner May Open Greek Dining Spot on Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay

It looks like a Greek eatery may be on its way to one of the busiest streets in Boston.

According to a source (and via Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay), the owner of Cafeteria on Newbury Street is looking to open a dining spot approximately a block east in the former Scissors & Pie/Bostone Pizza space, with the place featuring Greek-style fare such as Greek salads and gyros. Our source indicates that the eatery would have 14 seats inside and another 13 seats on a seasonal outdoor patio, though it would be considered mainly a takeout spot. No name has been given as of yet, though the company listed is called OPA LLC.

Scissors & Pie closed its doors in 2015 after being in business for a bit more than a year; Bostone Pizza had previously been in the space for about five years.

The address for this proposed Greek dining spot in the Back Bay is 225 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02116. (Cafeteria can be found at 279 Newbury Street.)
