A Boston-area location of an international group of yakitori restaurants is in the process of opening after being in the works for more than two years.
A message sent by Leah Klein of City Living Boston indicates that Tori Jiro was open for business yesterday at Arsenal Yards in East Watertown, with a Google Docs page indicating that the dining spot appears to be in the middle of a soft opening (the page had included a form for people interested in being invited to its soft opening, though the form has since been removed). As mentioned earlier, the eatery is expected to feature such items as char-broiled yakitori, which are bite-sized pieces of chicken on skewers; karaage, or Japanese fried chicken; and charcoal-grilled chicken meatballs with tare, which is a sweet soy-based sauce.
As was also mentioned earlier, this is the first location of Tori Jiro in the United States.
