A few months ago, it was reported that a group of fast-casual vegan spots had emerged from bankruptcy under new ownership but would need to change its name over the coming months. Now we have heard that the rebranding is indeed in the process of taking place, including a renaming of its sole remaining Boston location.
According to an article from Eater, by CHLOE is changing to Beatnic, which the post says is a reference to "the restaurant's roots in Greenwich Village and the historic Beatnik movement." The article mentions that all locations--including its Back Bay outlet on Boylston Street--will be setting up new signage, packaging, and online changes over the course of the next few months, while its menu is undergoing some changes as well.
by CHLOE opened its first shop in Manhattan's West Village in 2015, with co-founder Chloe Coscarelli leaving the company in 2016 and proceeding to get into a legal battle over the use of her name. The group of eateries filed for bankruptcy in late 2020, and somewhere along the way, locations in the Fenway and Seaport District shuttered permanently.
