Chilacates Cantina to Replace The Joint in Jamaica Plain

The person behind a local group of quick-service Mexican spots is going to be opening the first full-service version of the eatery, and it will take over the space where a burger bar had been.

According to an article from Boston Magazine, Socrates Abreu is opening Chilacates Cantina in the space in Jamaica Plain where The Joint was until it closed late last month. The post indicates that the new spot will offer beer, wine, and "creative" cocktails (their license only allows for cordials) along with nachos, flautas, chimichangas, seafood dishes, vegan options, and more. Once the new restaurant opens this month, it will join other locations of Chilacates in Jamaica Plain (two), Boston's South End and Mission Hill, and Chestnut Hill.

The Joint opened last May, taking over the space where Grass Fed had been.

The address for the upcoming location of Chilacates Cantina is 605 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
