Swissbakers Closes All Locations

It looks like a beloved local group of bakery-cafes has shut down operations.

According to several sources, Swissbakers has closed all of its outlets, with a Facebook post from the place confirming this, saying that "To the best guests in the world. It's with a heavy heart that we must inform you that we have to close our doors" while a comment from them indicates that this indeed affects all locations, including shops in Boston's North Station, Cambridge's Harvard Square, Allston, and Reading. (Another branch had been at the Boston Public Market as well, but that one closed in October.)

Swissbakers, which started out approximately 13 years ago in Reading, was known for its soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods with Swiss influences.
