It appears that a brand new Mexican eatery could be on its way to Cambridge, and it may be replacing another Mexican spot under the same ownership.
According to a license commission hearing agenda page within the city's website, Mexcito has applied for a beer, wine, and cordials license to operate on Kendall Street in the Kendall Square area, with Cambridge Day indicating that it would be set up as a kiosk. The listing seems to confirm this last point, saying that there would be no indoor seating, instead having window service along with an outdoor dining area. The manager listed is David Zimel, who runs Mexicali Burrito Co. at 500 Technology Square as well as Mexicali Burrito Cabana which happens to have the same address as that of the proposed Mexcito, so Mexcito may be taking over the Mexicali Burrito Cabana space, though this has not yet been confirmed.
The address for the proposed Mexcito is 350 Kendall Street, Cambridge, MA, 02142.
