Hana Sushi in North Cambridge Has Apparently Closed

A couple of months ago, it was reported that a longtime sushi spot in North Cambridge had been forced to shut down, only to quickly reopen again. Now we have learned that the restaurant has closed again, apparently for good this time.

According to a source, Hana Sushi on Mass. Ave. is locked up and dark once again, with a sign out front indicating that a new restaurant under different ownership is coming to the space. Our source tells us that the new place could be another sushi spot and that it might be opening in a month or so, while another source says that signs are now up saying that a new sushi place is indeed on the way. In late May, Hana Sushi was closed by order of the board of license commissioners, but it opened back up again the following day, with no indication as to what had happened to have it shutter in the first place.

Hana Sushi first opened more than 30 years ago.

The address for the now-closed Hana Sushi (and upcoming new restaurant) is 2372 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140.
