It looks like a new restaurant and bar is on its way to East Boston, and it would take over the space where another dining spot had been until closing for the winter a few year ago--and apparently never reopening.
According to a license board hearing page within the city of Boston website, The Quiet Few is planning to open in the Jeffries Point section of the neighborhood, with the Sumner Street address indicating that it would move into the former East Boston Kitchen space. Very little is known about the proposed eatery other than the fact that it would have a main dining room and a bar area (it is currently seeking a liquor license), while a Facebook post from East Boston Oysters indicates that it would be a "casual dining/ bar."
East Boston Kitchen shut down in late 2014, saying at the time that "We are closing for the winter to reassess." The place first opened its doors in June of 2013.
The address for the proposed Quiet Few is 331 Sumner Street, East Boston, MA, 02128.
